Pilot in Training!
All Nippon Airways, Co., Ltd. (ANA), a Japanese airline company, visited Boston Higashi School on September 16, 2009. Approximately 30 residential students gathered in Marble Hall. Mr. Yoshiharu Tsurusawa, Boeing 767 Captain, and Ms. Mie Takeichi, Cabin Attendant, provided a lecture about their work on board the aircraft. The students concentrated on the informative and interesting lecture and enjoyed interacting with the pilot and flight attendant by trying on uniforms and taking pictures with them. Mr. Shunko Kawabata, Vice President and General Manager of ANA USA Northeast Region, appreciated such a great opportunity to interact with students with ASD. Thanks to Mr. Hisao Nakatsuka, Vice President of Japanese Association of Greater Boston, the ANA lecture was brought to our school. ANA also introduced a Japanese comedy movie, “Happy Flight,” at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in the evening. The theatre was filled with not only Japanese people, but also local American residents.
